Lower Primary Coordinator’s Message

We have completed another productive, eventful and successful term. I would like to commend all students, parents and teachers for their continued dedication, hard work and support throughout the term.

Students were engaged in various activities, excursions and incursions. These events are always highly anticipated by students. I am so proud of our students’ achievements.

Students in Years F-3 successfully participated in the gymnastics program this term and are looking forward the swimming program in Term 4. The Year 3 students enjoyed their first camp experience to Sovereign Hill.

On the 23rd of August we celebrated Daffodil Day for cancer awareness. Students were encouraged to wear yellow and make a gold coin donation. Thank you to Ms Scaife, Ms Sahin and Ms Ergisi for organising this great fundraiser - we raised $360.

The character parade was amazing. We had so many students dressed up in their favourite book characters. Each child was unique and it was lovely to see the effort made by students and staff. We also held our annual book fair, with funds contributing towards purchasing books for the library. Thank you to everyone who purchased something at the fair. Also a very big thank you to our librarian Ms Kuyruk and to Ms Tran from the English committee for making these events possible.

The Father’s Day stall was a great success, too. Students from F-Year 6 were given the opportunity to purchase a gift for their special dad or granddad. Thank you to Ms Yilmaz and students who assisted on the day.

We celebrated Footy Colours Day on Friday the 6th of September. Students were encouraged to wear their favourite team’s colours to raise money for kids with cancer. Students actively participated in footy clinics run by the Western Bulldogs’ experienced staff and club mascot “Butch”. Thank you to Mr Kocdemir and Mr Bistricki for organising this wonderful day.

Finally just a friendly reminder regarding the school uniform. Students will need to come to school in the correct winter uniform, including footwear. Please refer to the uniform policy which is available on the school’s website.

I am looking forward to the term ahead and excited about working closely together with our students, staff and the wider community. Hope you all have a safe and restful term break.

Yours in education,
Ms Halide Atasay
